Here is some information that you can get from you serial number after 1921 Remingtons manufactured after 1921 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture. Others can be had in satin with chamberings ranging from 12, 20, and 28 gauge to. Barrels made between 8/9/99 and 10/1/01 do not have codes. This 12-gauge 870 Wingmaster boasts hi-gloss finish on the wood and blued metal parts. Remington discontinued stamping barrels with a date code on 8/9/99, the date code was added again on 10/1/01. In some cases, only partial date codes were marked. This 870 Magnum is in good condition and features a 30' barrel with a ventilated rib and a full choke, chambered for 3' shells.
